The CMA Intermediate (India) examination conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India consists of 8 papers, divided into 2 groups under the Syllabus 2022.

Passing Criteria
To pass each group, a student must:
• Score at least 40 marks (40%) in each paper, and
• Obtain an aggregate of 50% (200 out of 400 marks) in that group.

One can take the CMA USA exams during three testing windows each year. The exams are conducted by the Institute of Management Accountants at authorized Prometric test centers worldwide.

You can choose to take:
• Part 1 or Part 2 in any order.
• One part in one testing window and the other in a later window, or both parts in the same testing window if you’re well prepared.

One can take the CMA India examinations twice a year, as conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
CMA India Exams are held twice every year (June and December).
Foundation is conducted as a computer-based (MCQ) examination.
Intermediate and Final are offline (pen-and-paper) examinations.
Students can appear group-wise or for both groups together at the Intermediate and Final levels.

CMA USA Passing Criteria is
• You must score 360 out of 500 in Part 1 and Part 2 separately.
• The score is a scaled score, so it does not directly mean you need 72% raw marks.
• You must also answer enough multiple-choice questions correctly to have the case-based/constructed-response section evaluated

CMA India Passing Criteria is
Foundation
• Minimum 40 marks in each paper.
• 50% aggregate (200 out of 400).

Intermediate
• Minimum 40 marks in each paper.
• 50% aggregate in each group (200 out of 400).

Final
• Minimum 40 marks in each paper.
• 50% aggregate in each group (200 out of 400)

Students can start studying and even sit for exams after 12th grade. However, to receive the final certificate, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is mandatory along with 2 years of work Experience in Accounting or Finance domain.

Yes, a 12th-grade student can start CMA India. In fact, Class 12 (10+2) is the minimum educational qualification required to register for the CMA India Foundation course conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Many students register for CMA Foundation immediately after their 12th boards and clear it during their first year of college. Once you pass Foundation, you can pursue CMA Intermediate concurrently with your B.Com or BBA degree.
